During their visit to the inepro Partner Day 2025 at our head office in Nieuw-Vennep, the members of the Delft Solar Team spoke enthusiastically about their project and adventures, with their solar car proving to be the undisputed star of the event. This time, the roles were reversed, and at their invitation, we were given the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes in Delft.
It was an excellent opportunity for Dennis, Pieter, and the Delft Solar Team to exchange ideas and gain new insights. After all, great things often happen when curious people come together.
Our visit took place at a particularly exciting moment, as the team was carrying out the final preparations for the American Solar Challenge. We witnessed firsthand as the solar car took shape, including the installation of the solar panel, while the Delft Solar Team members worked intensively to ensure everything was ready for the competition.

When expertise meets curiosity
It soon became clear that there was plenty to discuss. Driven by a shared desire to learn, we delved into how the Delft Solar Team is organised, the technology behind their solar car and their approach to energy management. What began as an open exchange of knowledge soon developed into a meaningful discussion about technical challenges and innovative solutions. This also highlighted common ground between the Delft Solar Team and inepro Metering.
Tackling energy measurement challenges together
In addition to exchanging knowledge, the meeting explored potential future technical collaborations. One of the topics discussed was how energy flows within the solar car are measured and monitored. It emerged that inepro Metering’s expertise in energy measurement offers interesting starting points for addressing the challenges faced by the Delft Solar Team. Among other things, discussions centred on the possibility of measuring energy at high sampling frequencies, whilst filtering out frequency components that are less relevant. This aligns well with the team’s desire to analyse energy flows as accurately and relevantly as possible.
From conversation to collaboration?

In addition, the Delft Solar Team was open to exploring the possibility of a specially developed metering module from inepro as a potential addition to or replacement for their current measurement boards. Although these ideas are still at an exploratory stage, the conversations made it clear that there are interesting areas of overlap between inepro’s expertise and the Delft Solar Team’s technical ambitions. The visit, therefore, not only demonstrated the value of knowledge exchange, but also how a partnership can develop into potential opportunities for innovation.
